IITians in Silicon Valley

Most of the indian talent in the form of IITians is focused in IT industry with Silicon Valley as it unofficial headquarters. Research done by Americans indicate that a large number of startups are owned by Indians, especially IITians. Anecdotes among us abound regarding big software companies having large number of IIT graduates. I am doing my own research and the initial results are as expected. Most large IT companies have very few IITians at or near top. Most are near the middle management rungs. Just like the nearby universities - Stanford and UC Berkeley. Not many faculty memebrs or students from IITs or for that matter from India, there.
