Unless the IIT directory which has topics common to all the 5/7/10 IITs, here I will restrict myself to issues mostly related to IIT Bombay, the campus I studied electrical engineering many years ago. I lived for five years in Hostel 7, the "Lady of the Lake" hostel called because it was located next to the beautiful Powai lake. Topics covered here will tend to be "lighter."

Every year we held a cultural festival. It attracted fellow-students from other colleges and artists from all over India. However, its Westernized atmosphere could not be denied.
Mumbai is the center of Indian movie industry and IIT Bombay's Powai lake campus war near Andheri's film studios. Meant lots of movies. Describes a movie event that became a tug-of-war between two different group of students.
Hindi and not-so-Hindi Movies at IIT BombayIIT Bombay had 10 hostels. Nine were for men and one was for women - that too a very small one. For most, paying for living in those hostels was mandatory and most lived in the hostels. Did it help in our academic or social life?
